Wu Sibo: Impermanence at Flowers

Wu Sibo: Impermanence at Flowers

The paintings are said to be inspired by daily scenes in the artist’s hometown but I can’t help but think of them as illustrations from an unfinished book or scenes from a movie, you’ve watched once half-asleep. The works are deliberately ambiguous and give the viewer a very masterfully created poetical unease. Who are these people? Why are they doing what they are doing? Do I want to know? Will they continue to exist if I turn away? Do I really want to know?
