It is not that difficult to appreciate art.

But to be an artist, you have to be incredibly brave. You have to have something that you have to say even when nobody listens.

I truly appreciate artists, so I go visit them. A studio is a place like no other. It tells you a story, the context of the artist’s work, the past, and a bit of a future mixed in a fascinating present.

Hong Kong artists often have to work in tiny studios, and what they choose to keep there might give a clue to what they value. Or just what they can’t get away without. All posts about Hong Kong/Hong Kong based artists are under the tag “That Artist.” I do pay a visit to artists in temporary residencies, but I don’t have a special tag for that.

Join me to meet artists and peak into their fascinating places.
