May 18 Clouds, Power and Ornament – Roving Central Asia at CHAT Mills

Consisting of two parts: Clouds and Power co-curated by Slavs and Tatars and You Mi, and Suture: Reimagining Ornament curated by Alexandra Tsay the exhibition showcases remarkably rich visual traditions of Central Asian countries like Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. Textile production was and still is deeply rooted in cultural history and tightly intertwined with all the aspects of daily lives.
