This exhibition brings together a group of contemporary artists from Czechia and Hong Kong whose diverse creative practices find common ground in the subject of nature and ecology. Working in painting, drawing, sculpture, and multimedia, the artists reflect on the relationship between humanity and nature, focusing on both the tensions between urban modernity and ecological preservation as well as the possibilities of sustainable coexistence. Drawing on both the literal and figurative meaning of an “undercurrent,” this exhibition invites the audience to consider humanity’s present relationship with the natural world and the consequences of our actions as a contemporary civilization on a planet in urgent need of care and preservation.
