Jeff Koons: 1979-1999 at Art Intelligence Global

I have a personal (and very professional, as always) theory on how Jeff Koons should be perceived.
According to it, Jeff Koons is a dedicated performance artist, who had willingly—albeit not without financial gain—embraced the lifelong kismet of the stereotypical “contemporary artist”, the type the general public imagines one to be. Similar to the living sculptures Gilbert and George, but in a different genre and with an even more radical approach. He reached his pinnacle by marrying Cicciolina and embraced all the consequences of that. His mass-produced and derivative works are merely byproducts of his lifelong performance through which he explores the vast planes of greediness and questionable taste of those in power, and examines how far money and ego can spread. Jeff Koons passionately sacrifices his whole life to offer a lens for social criticism and provide an opportunity for discourse on the values of humanity.
(Love the floating ball though)
