Organised by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC), “Youth Arts Week”, the signature programme of the 18th Arts Ambassadors-in-School Scheme (AAiSS), will kick off on 24 July.  Themed “United in Imagination”, this year’s “Youth Arts Week” presents a diverse line-up of arts activities at The Mills in Tsuen Wan from 25 July to 16 August. Featuring arts experiences, workshops, a cappella x tap dance performances, an arts bazaar and more, the programme invites everyone to explore and celebrate the infinite possibilities of the arts in summer.  As a prelude to the summer festivities, a pilot activity, “Alumni Studio Visit,” was held in late June.  Over 70 current arts ambassadors visited the studios of two alumnae artists, gaining insight into the artists’ daily practice and setting the stage for an inspiring artistic summer ahead.

Travelling Through Time: Exploring the Stories of Tsuen Wan

The highlight of this year’s “Youth Arts Week” is the immersive arts experience “Time Pocket Station” co-created by illustrator UUendy Lau and embroidery artist Stephanie Kwok. Incorporating illustration and embroidery works by arts ambassadors, the installation creates an immersive setting that journeys between the year 2090 and present Tsuen Wan. Through multiple interactive elements and photo spots, visitors are invited to rediscover the community stories from a fresh and imaginative perspective.
