UNARCHIVED: Techno & Impermanent Flux at Asia Society

  • Hong Kong Hong Kong (map)

Inspired by Asia Society Hong Kong Center’s exhibition Singing and Dancing with Brush and Ink: The Art of Wesley Tongson and the Wesley Tongson Archive at Asia Art Archive, Hong Kong artist Wai Pongyu and the ASHK Curatorial Team proudly present UNARCHIVED: Techno & Impermanent Flux.

Join us on October 30 for a one-night-only, after-hours activation at Asia Society Hong Kong Center’s Chantal Miller Gallery, translating visual and textual records into a visceral, collective sensory experience.

UNARCHIVED treats performance as an act of raw honesty — reanimating memory not on paper, but through moving bodies. Wai Pongyu approaches the archive as material to be reenacted and rave as an art form, celebrating the dance floor as a source of resilience, freedom, and joy. Expect shifting soundscapes from atmospheric, nostalgic pop to heavy-hitting techno, paired with dynamic visual projections in an environment built on proximity, sweat, and intensity. No re-tracing. No place to hide. Just the flux of the present moment.
