Bouie Choi: Those warm and unwavering existences at Grotto FA

Departing from narrative scenes in these new works, Bouie moves closer to fairytales and city mythology. The works are still dreamy and don’t reveal direct meaning, relying this time more on associations and impressions. The technique supports this feeling: fewer details, more paint flows and washes, and active use of the wood grain.
