Emily Kueis: Skin in Limbo at Square Street Gallery

Emily Kueis: Skin in Limbo at Square Street Gallery

“Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must be silent.” So said Wittgenstein, and it’s a perfect quote to end a lot of discussions. Luckily, he never said anything about painting the things and feelings you don’t have words for.
Exploring the themes of internal states, emotional tones, and psychological interpretations, Emily Kueis uses recurring images of mannequins and crows both as cultural symbols and scenes from daily life. All of the artworks in this show are open to interpretation and should be seen as portals into personal dimensions.

Curated by Jims Lam.
