Colorful and multilayered exhibition by a Kazakh contemporary artist, who uses traditional Central Asian felt and fabrics as her main material to explore the themes of heritage and belonging in the contemporary world. Embracing the tradition, disassembling it, reinventing and creating new meanings — while also burying and burning some of the memories.

Меня занимает, что «приданое» это такое многослойное понятие. Тут и забота женщин твоего рода, и буквальная мера ценности невесты, и возможность обустроить свою новую жизнь; что-то одновременно неотъемлемое от тебя, но и не принадлежащее тебе лично. Переосмысление и присвоение своего культурного приданого, со всеми его переплетениями и многослойностью, — безусловно сложная, но поэтичная работа.
