Zheng Mahler: Mushroom Clouds at PHD Group

Recreating an ecosystem of Lantau Island, the exhibition raises an important question: can I still eat mushrooms if they are sentient? what if the consciousness, beyond the human one, can not only be created artificially but is already here? The intricate signaling and exchange systems of mycelial networks are similar enough to the distributing networks we are building (though theirs is called much cuter: "wood wide web”). It is one of those exhibitions that will leave you with way more questions than answers and a lot of food for thought.
