From 16 June ā 16 July, explore the fascinating world of bags through more than 240 unique objects that span the 16th century to present day. Begin this three-part exhibition in Function and Utility that looks at the practical origin of bags as holders of our personal belongings. In the sumptuously curated second section, Status and Identity, explore how bags became symbols of style and power through culturally significant items such as Sarah Jessica Parkerās iconic Fendi āBaguetteā used in Sex and the City, or Princess Dianaās āLady Diorā by Christian Dior. Finish with an intimate look into the crafting process behind some of todayās most luxurious bags in the final section, Design and Making.
Exclusive to the Inaugural Asian Tour, a special section of the exhibition, Collecting Bags, has been co-curated by Swire Properties. This section features 13 bags from well-known singer and actress Kelly Chenās private collection, representing cherished moments in the starās life and career.
