In this saturated city, room to breathe can be found in the “left-over” part of institutional planning. With the hot and wet weather, moss spreads quietly in these dark cracks, as if a metaphor for the new generation’s microcosm of existence—gentle yet resilient, tiny yet potent. We learn to grow at the edges, brewing under the faint light, resisting with flexibility and searching for our own ways of being within the boundaries.
Here, four artists respond to this state of growth under various constraints through their perspectives. In such an environment, how does the new generation navigate? And how do they find breathing space in the remaining areas?
