Stevie Whisper: The Mihn Machine by The Mihn

  • Hong Kong Hong Kong (map)

The Mihn Machine, a poster exhibition by Belgrade-based designer Stevie Whisper, opens at G/F, 3 Staunton Street, Central, Hong Kong on Friday, 4 September 2026. Presented with Hong Kong underground club 宀, the exhibition marks one year of Whisper’s art direction for the club — over a hundred posters, shown together for the first time as large-format pigment prints. The public opening takes place at 19:00 on 4 September, with the exhibition running daily until 11 September.

Since September 2025, Whisper has been designing posters for 宀 Club, developing a visual language built for the physical world. He insisted on real-life paper sizing rather than the dimensions prescribed by social media, and integrated folds and creases into the designs as constant reminders of the physical, non-virtual nature of nightlife, and of the posters promoting it.

Nostalgia aside, the attitude remains punk: a celebration of risk, and a reassurance that the hand is running the machine, not the other way around. The identity emerges through intuitive choices rather than adherence to any one aesthetic or subculture, mirroring the club’s own ethos. And true to the practical nature of graphic design, Whisper stays on topic, whether through a puzzle, a direct illustration, a kick in the teeth, or an imaginative, loopy abstraction.
