Alisan Fine Arts is excited to present the fifth solo exhibition of the world-renowned French-Chinese artist Yang Jiechang, corresponding with Hong Kong M+’s exhibition of Yang's monumental series, Hundred Layers of Ink and Tale of the 11th Day, this year. The gallery’s exhibition, curated by the esteemed Dr. Martina Köppel-Yang, will exhibit Yang’s famous Flower and Bird Paintings, including the ink series: For Bada and the colour-on-silk series: Tale of the 11th Day

Yang is considered one of the most outstanding contemporary artists emerging from China after the Cultural Revolution. One of his main goals is to integrate Chinese traditional painting, aesthetics and thought in a contemporary context. In 1989, his iconic Hundred Layers of Ink series was selected for the important exhibition Magiciens de la Terre at Centre Pompidou in Paris, garnering him tremendous attention in the international art scene. Since then, he has lived in Paris and Heidelberg.
