Oct 5 Chilai Howard: A Self-Portrait: The Process of Erasing at Goethe-Institut

An incredibly personal exhibition, filled with memories, regrets, and honest stories. However, Chilai treats them as his working materials, exploring how the act of destruction can paradoxically work as preservation and vice versa. I feel there’s an accidental alchemy element in this exhibition, because through all the stages of transformation of these memories, there’s a possibility to turn them into pure gold of letting them go.
