The driving impulses, the opposite forces, the things that start and end everything. Whether it’s being scared of death or enchanted by it, chasing passion or avoiding it — these are undoubtedly the most powerful engines of human life and creativity, yet one of them is fully unavoidable. “Death inspires me like a dog inspires a rabbit,” speaks to me a bit more than “All you need is love.”
