Hong Kong visual artist Matthew Tsang continues his exploration of materiality, transforming the exhibition space into a dynamic site for perceptual experimentation. Works are constructed from the physical traces of material transformations shaped by time and environment. By using these shifts in material states as a medium, Tsang investigates the subtle yet tense connections between everyday life, culture, the environment, and the contemporary state of human existence.
This exhibition places strong emphasis on site in flux and process. Over the course of the exhibition timeline, the artist will continuously interact with the installed works, reconfiguring and altering the scene. The artworks are no longer fixed outcomes, but evolving organisms that change over time. The exhibition space thus becomes a fluid site of dialogue among artist, material, and viewer.
